Yerba mate is a traditional South American tea made from the leaves and twigs of the Ilex paraguariensis plant. Its origins are in the the indigenous Guaraní and Tupí communities.
Typically the leaves are dried out over a fire and sipped from a gourd with a metal straw. It is common to sit in a circle and share a cup of mate with close members of your community (whether it be family or friends).

How to Brew -
Use 1 tablespoon for every 8oz of filtered water.
Bring water to 170/175F and steep for 5 minutes.
